The majority of head and neck wounds in children and adolescents correspond to benign volume increases; however the following study has the purpose of exposing the symptomology, diagnostic, staging and treatment of one of the harmful tumors of soft-tissue more frequent in pediatrics, the rhabdomyosarcoma. This tumor may appear with an extensive variety of symptoms and signs, therefore its diagnosis requires a high degree of clinical suspicion and may be confirmed with a series of examinations, in order classify it and apply the adequate treatment. At present, chemotherapy and surgery are utilized mostly, avoiding the use of the conventional radiation therapy due to its frequent adverse side-effects.

Key words: Rhabdomyosarcoma. Tumor of soft-tissue.
